First English Show

My grandpa went into surgery today. I'll be seeing him tomorrow. Then we're going to the tack shop so I can get a new helmet. I saw a key and measured my head, I have a L/XL head! And to think I've been wearing a medium for 5-6 years!! :o!
Well anyways Sunday is my first english show! Gonna be fun!!
Cougar was excellent yesterday. He was completely forward at all moments! Which is odd for this western pleasure horse. He has the slowest jog, and canter. But yesterday he was giving me a very forward trot and a fast canter. I wish it was always that way!! But I need to start getting him to do that all the time on que! Wish us luck!!

Hugs From Cougar! - Filling Ya In!

A lady from the ranch was watching me ride. Then when my dad got there she talked to him. She said she thinks I need a more of a challenging for a horse. She wanted m to ride her eventing pony, Puck. But Puck is one small pony. And I found out today that she's selling him. Wow......
But I like Cougar. I'm gonna lease him until I get my own horse! I want my own horse soon. It would allow me so much freedom at the ranch!
I found out today I can go on trail rides now! Yippee!! That will help me make more friends at the ranch.
Next Saturday I'm finally getting a private lesson for the first time in FOREVER!! Yay! I think it'll be a jumping lesson, well I'm hoping! Can't wait!!

Second day of February

Western Show canceled. Little upset about that. My family is completely snowed in in Chicago. I wonder what they do with the horses in these states that are snowed in for many feets?
Watching the news lately? Saw it today. Citizens riding camels an horseback at Egypt. Saw horses being beat. This one white horse got a close up. 4 men around him one slapping it on moving it and, well, beating it.
Pretty sad.
Don't really have anything else to say.

A Bored Day..

Oh this is so cool!! I logged on and my friend from Trotontv.com is now following me! That makes 2! LOL:) Lesson today, western. After the owner of the horse I'm leasing and my trainer had me test out to new trail pattern for the upcoming western show I'll be in. (Cougar and I are gonna kick butt in the show!)

Jumped on Cougar for the first time (on purpose) last week. He jumped it like it was 5ft but it wasn't even 2 ft! The first time I was like standing in my saddle. My leg sticking out to the side, and my butt in the air. It looked like this:

The second time went more smootly. Better on my part. But I felt like a jockey. Here's a picture of that:

Starting To Hate Winter...

All the horses are going crazy! During my lesson today my friend's horse basically ran away right from under neath her! He was bucking and rearing and the next thing I know, she's on the ground crying. The horse was still running around the arena and one of the trainers were yelling to keep our horses standing. keep our horses standing! Which we did, but my friend was still on the ground. She hit her side then kinda twisted on her back. It looked painful. she tried riding again, on a different horse this time, a pony. Just to get her to try to get back on. Then the pony got an attitude! I think she was just, done... Cougar gave me a good lead during the canter, then got faster and more unbalanced, like almost too lazy to do good. And this was on his right lead (his good one)!!
I'm getting SICK of this cold weather, I haven't jumped (on purpose) in a long time!
